Hi Momma!
It’s Mental Health Monday and I want you to know that YOU matter. Every week, I will be sending you out an email focusing on mental health and wellness. I believe that mental health is so important, especially for moms. We are the ones who tend to NOT make ourselves a priority, therefore, neglecting not only our physical health, but our mental and emotional health as well. Is this you?
In all honesty, lately I have had some really hard days as far as my own mental health goes. My anxiety seems to be at an all time high, I get stressed easily, and I tend to lash out or yell when this happens. After that, comes the mom guilt and lies that try to convince me that I am a bad mom, that I am going to ruin my kids, that my kids hate me….etc. Do you ever feel this way?
When you are feeling the anxiety creep in, when you feel overwhelmed and as if you may lose your cool, I want you to follow these four simple steps to get yourself grounded again and most of all CALM….
1. Take a Timeout
2. Make amends & Move on
3. Know Your triggers
4. Forgive yourself
As always, I hope you have an amazing week ahead and that you continue to give yourself forgiveness and grace. Know that you deserve it and that God has gifted these things to you freely, even when you feel like you don’t deserve it!
